Elephants for Africa

Elephants for Africa (EfA) is dedicated to conserving the African savanna elephant by researching the ecological and social needs of male elephants and addressing the challenges of human-wildlife conflict. Based in Botswana, EfA collaborates with local and international researchers to generate scientific data that informs local decision-making.

Working closely with rural communities bordering national parks, EfA delivers educational programmes that empower future conservation leaders and support sustainable livelihoods. Their vision is a shared landscape where both people and wildlife can thrive.

Elephants for Africa is a registered charity in England & Wales (No. 1179318) and an NGO in Botswana (No. CR12058).

Social-Ecological Insights for Agroforestry Landscapes

EfA brings valuable expertise in human-wildlife coexistence and the social-ecological dynamics of conservation landscapes. In AfroGrow, EfA contributes to evaluating how agroforestry systems intersect with wildlife and rural communities, particularly in Botswana and beyond. The organisation supports the assessment of animal integration in farming systems and helps identify agroforestry practices that promote both ecological balance and community well-being.
