ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (ECoE ) was established through the ‘EXCELSIOR’ H2020 Widespread Teaming Phase 2 project, resulting from the enhancement of the Remote Sensing and Geo-Environment Lab, which has been operating at the Cyprus University of Technology since 2007. Today, the Centre stands as a Digital Innovation Hub, pioneering advancements in Earth Observation and geospatial intelligence. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, the Centre harnesses cutting-edge remote sensing, advanced data management, and big earth data analytics to address critical global challenges in climate action, environmental sustainability, and societal resilience. ECoE delivers an ecosystem of innovation, offering vocational programs, ground-breaking research opportunities, and robust partnerships with industry. Fostering cross-disciplinary collaborations and entrepreneurial excellence, the Centre is committed to shaping a sustainable future and redefining the boundaries of space and Earth sciences.
Project Coordinator and Digital Innovation Leader
ECoE leads AfroGrow as the Project Coordinator, bringing strong expertise in project management, digital innovation, and the creation of collaborative environments for agroforestry transformation. It oversees the development of the AfroGrow Platform, a digital space that brings together data, tools, and stakeholders to support informed decision-making. ECoE also designs the Climate-Smart Agroforestry Planner, helping land managers and researchers select sustainable practices suited to local needs. As a driving force behind the establishment of Living Labs and the development of data-driven policy recommendations, ECoE ensures that AfroGrow’s results are inclusive, impactful, and scalable. It also manages key aspects of coordination, ethics, and data to ensure the project’s smooth implementation and long-term success.
