CZECH UNIVERSITY OF LIFE SCIENCES PRAGUE

Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) is a leading institution in European research and innovation projects, with a strong focus on sustainability, environmental protection, and food security. Three of its faculties—the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ), the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food, and Natural Resources (FAPPZ), and the Faculty of Environmental Sciences (FŽP)—contribute to the AfroGrow project. FTZ specialises in agroforestry, sustainable livestock production and wildlife management, ethnopharmacology, and international development, fostering innovative solutions for global challenges, particularly in tropical regions. FAPPZ focuses on sustainable agriculture, food production, and animal science, enhancing food security and traceability. FŽP addresses climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable land management, contributing to ecosystem services and environmental policy. With multidisciplinary expertise, CZU is a key partner in promoting sustainability, inclusivity, and resilience in European and global contexts.

Leading Impact Assessment and Knowledge Exchange

 CZU leads AfroGrow’s impact assessment, bringing expertise in agroforestry, sustainable livestock, food security, traceability, and ethnopharmacology. It develops a harmonised data collection framework across six Living Labs, enabling consistent, participatory research. CZU also helps coordinate Living Lab activities such as workshops, demonstrations, and training. Through stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and policy outreach, CZU ensures that project outcomes inform evidence-based recommendations for inclusive, climate-resilient agroforestry and long-term sustainability.
