Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International Archives

Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International Archives (CABI) is an international, intergovernmental, not-for-profit organisation that improves lives worldwide by applying scientific expertise and providing access to knowledge in agriculture and the environment. CABI helps farmers grow more and lose less by tackling issues such as crop pests and diseases, sustainable farming, food security, and climate resilience.

Operating under a UN-registered, treaty-level agreement, CABI’s work is shaped by its 48 Member Countries, who guide the organisation’s strategic direction and help ensure its solutions meet global and local needs. With a strong commitment to knowledge sharing, innovation, and capacity building, CABI plays a vital role in creating more sustainable and inclusive agricultural systems across the world.

Advancing Training, E-Learning, and Human Well-Being

CABI brings extensive expertise in training and digital learning to AfroGrow, leading the development of the project’s open-access e-learning platform for agroforestry management across Africa. It also contributes to assessing how agroforestry impacts human well-being, using a One Health approach, and supports the selection of suitable plant species based on its experience with invasive trees and crop health. CABI’s work connects local needs with accessible training and evidence-based practices that promote resilient, healthy agroforestry systems.
