AfroGrow’s Experience
From 21–22 October, the AfroGrow team took part in Synergy Days 2025 in Rotterdam, a dynamic event bringing together innovators, researchers, and digital pioneers shaping the future of sustainable agriculture.
Organised by the SmartAgriHubs Community with the support of the AgData partnership, Synergy Days offered an inspiring space for dialogue and collaboration. Over two days, discussions centered on how digital solutions and innovation ecosystems can drive the transition toward more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agri-food systems across regions.
The AfroGrow team presented the project’s vision of “Agroforestry Living Labs for Sustainable African Growth”. Visitors learned how AfroGrow advances agroforestry innovation ecosystems by connecting local knowledge, scientific expertise, and stakeholder-driven collaboration. The booth became a meeting point for fruitful exchanges with researchers, policymakers, and innovators from across Europe and Africa.
Workshops and Collaboration
AfroGrow co-organised two interactive workshops, “Collaborative Pathways for Resilient & Sustainable Agri-Food Systems Across Regions” (with GEORGIA project) and “Co-creating Climate-Neutral Food Systems with Living Labs & Food Convergence Innovation” (with FCI4Africa project). Both sessions brought together diverse perspectives on how Living Labs and local eco-innovation ecosystems can drive sustainable, climate-just agri-food transitions. The discussions led to valuable exchanges and actionable insights, reflecting the spirit of co-creation and partnership that defined the event.
Looking Ahead
Synergy Days 2025 was more than an event, it was a space where innovation met collaboration. The AfroGrow team returned with new connections, fresh perspectives, and a renewed commitment to advancing agroforestry-driven sustainability across Africa.
